2. Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Q1. Reading mode does not work on a specific web page.
The website's structure may have changed, or content may be loading lazily. Try again after the page fully loads. If that does not help, use "Manual picking" in the browser menu to select the images yourself. If it keeps happening on a specific address, email us the address and we will look into it.

Q2. Videos do not appear in the list.
The App recognizes <video> tags and video files in the body (mp4, webm, m3u8, etc.). Embedded videos from external players such as YouTube may be restricted from in-app playback due to copyright protection policies.

Q3. Where are saved images and videos kept?
They are stored only in the Picbook library on your device. They are deleted when device storage runs out or the App is deleted, so back up important content separately.

Q4. I see adult content.
Picbook does not filter content on the websites you visit. We comply with App Store age rating policies. If you find inappropriate default content links, please report them immediately; after review they will be removed from the default links.

Q5. The App is slow or freezes.
If the problem persists after restarting the App, report it by email together with the iOS version you are using.

Q6. Can I open comic files I already own?
Use the folder button on the Saved tab to open CBZ, ZIP, and PDF files. Files placed in the Picbook folder in the Files app can be picked right away. CBR (RAR) is not supported.

Q7. How do new image alerts work?
Turn them on in Settings › Notifications and the App periodically checks whether bookmarked pages have new images and lets you know. iOS decides when those checks run based on battery and network conditions, so alerts may not arrive immediately. Turning them off also stops the background checks.

Q8. What does bundling a board listing into one book do?
It opens several posts from a board listing in order and assembles them into a single list to read. It exists for your own convenient viewing, and the number of posts handled at once is capped. It may not be used to collect content in bulk or to redistribute it.

Q9. How many items can I view per day for free?
250 media files per day, resetting at midnight. To keep viewing past the limit, consider Picbook Pro.

3. Rights infringement reports

If you hold the rights to content and want to have the path by which App features reach it blocked, email manager@x-ti.org with the following:

  • Your name and contact details, and your relationship to the rights holder
  • The web address (URL) where the content is posted
  • Material confirming that you hold the rights

We reply within two business days of receipt, and once verified we stop providing access guidance to that content within reason. The content itself resides on a third-party website, so removal of the original must be requested from that site's operator.

4. Support termination notice

If support is terminated, we will give advance notice through the App and the website at least 30 days beforehand.
