Picbook Terms of Use

1. Purpose

These Terms define the conditions and procedures for using the App and the rights, duties, and responsibilities of the Company and users.

2. Definitions

1. "App" means the iOS application Picbook developed and distributed by the Company.
2. "User" means a person who installs and uses the App under these Terms.
3. "Third-party website" means a website visited through the App that the Company does not operate.
4. "Extraction" means the feature that assembles a list of image and video content from a third-party web page displayed on the user's device screen.
5. "Bundle reading" means the feature that, when requested by the user on a board listing page, opens the posts in that listing in order and assembles them into a single reading list.
6. "Batch save" means the feature that downloads listed content to the device in one go at the user's request.
7. "Extraction rules" means the configuration file containing per-site content location information, distributed by the Company and downloaded periodically by the App.

3. Service description

Picbook is a personal viewing tool that helps you extract image and video content from web pages opened in the App's in-app browser and enjoy it conveniently.

• The service flow is: (1) browse (open a web page in the in-app browser) → (2) extract (list the image and video content) → (3) view and save (enjoy it in the viewer, revisit via bookmarks and on-device storage).
• All content shown in the App (images, videos, text, etc.) is provided by the third-party websites you visit; the Company does not create, own, or manage that content.
• The App does not copy or store content on a separate server; extraction and saving work only on your device.

Users may use the additional features below. Every feature runs only on the user's explicit request.

These features exist for the user's own convenient viewing; they are not provided for collecting or redistributing content.

The App's core features are free, and the free tier allows viewing 250 media files per day. The allowance resets at midnight each day. To keep viewing beyond that limit, the in-app purchase Picbook Pro (monthly subscription or lifetime access) is required; details follow the Subscription and Billing Policy.

4. Effect and changes to the Terms

1. These Terms take effect when posted in the App or on the Company website.
2. The Company may change the Terms within the scope permitted by applicable law. Changes will be announced in the App or on the website from seven days before the effective date, with the effective date and reason. Changes unfavorable to users will be announced 30 days in advance.
3. If you continue to use the App after the effective date of changed Terms, you are deemed to have accepted them. If you do not accept them, you may stop using the App by deleting it.

5. User obligations and prohibited acts

Users must not:

1. Infringe others' intellectual property rights (copyright, trademarks, etc.), portrait rights, or personal information
2. Copy, distribute, transmit, or commercially use content viewed through the App without permission
3. Use features such as bundle reading or batch save to collect or accumulate content in bulk beyond personal viewing, or to supply it to third parties
4. Interfere with the App's normal operation, or reverse engineer, tamper with, or disassemble it
5. Use the service in ways that violate the terms or robots exclusion protocols of the websites visited
6. Use the service in a way that places excessive load on third-party websites
7. Commit other acts that violate law or public order and morals

6. Intellectual property

1. All rights in the App itself (design, code, icons, documents, etc.) belong to the Company.
2. Rights in the content of third-party websites viewed through the App belong to their original rights holders, and the Company claims no rights over them.
3. Copyright responsibility for content use rests with the user.
4. Responsibility for the rights in, and lawful possession of, files opened through the local file feature rests with the user.
5. If an original rights holder asks the Company to block the path by which App features reach their content, the Company may, within reason, stop providing access guidance to that content. For how to submit a request, see "Rights infringement reports" on the Customer Support page.

7. Service changes and discontinuation

1. The Company may change or discontinue all or part of the service where operationally or technically necessary, with advance notice through the App or the website.
2. Certain features (such as reading mode) may stop working due to reasons beyond the Company's control, such as structural changes or access blocks on third-party websites, and the Company bears no responsibility for this.
3. The Company may update the extraction rules to keep up with site structure changes, and the App downloads them periodically. Even if a rules update fails, the service keeps working with the rules bundled in the App.
4. Service may be temporarily suspended for maintenance or incidents; in urgent cases notice may be given afterwards.

8. Disclaimers

1. The Company does not guarantee the content, legality, accuracy, or safety of third-party websites users visit and is not liable for damages arising from their use.
2. The Company is not liable for service interruptions caused by force majeure such as natural disasters, network failures, or device issues.
3. The App is recommended for ages 17 and up. Judgments and responsibility regarding content exposure on websites users access rest with the users.
4. The Company is not liable for damages arising from the use of services provided free of charge, absent intent or gross negligence.

9. Dispute resolution and governing law

1. In the event of a dispute between the Company and a user, both parties shall endeavour to reach an amicable settlement; failing that, the court with jurisdiction over the Company's location shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
2. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
