Loci Support and How to Use
Last updated: July 16, 2026
Loci is a local-first personal todo app that keeps photos, notes, and place context together. Use the steps below to get started or troubleshoot common issues.
Quick start
- Create a record by taking a photo, choosing an image from your library, or starting a text todo.
- Add a note, importance, and optional place context.
- Set a schedule or reminder and review follow-up work in the list or map.
- Export important records to CSV or preserve them with a device backup.
Permissions
- Camera is needed only when you capture a new photo.
- Photo access is needed only when you select an image from your library.
- Location is needed only when you choose to add your current place to a record.
- Notifications are needed to show todo reminders you schedule.
Local data and backups
Core records are stored on your device by default. Export important records to CSV or use a device backup before removing the App or resetting the device. Photos are not automatically included in CSV, and you control the file destination and recipients.
Troubleshooting
- If capture fails, check camera permission and available device storage.
- If a place does not appear, check location permission, Location Services, and network access.
- If reminders do not arrive, check notification permission, battery optimization, and Focus settings.
- If a widget is stale, open Loci to refresh the latest state and then check the widget again.
Delete data
Delete individual records in the App. You can remove all local data through device settings or by deleting the App. Exported files must be deleted separately from the location where you saved them.
